Nestlé to stop buying milk from Mugabe dairy farm

Nestlé has said that it will stop purchasing milk from the Gushungo Dairy Estate, which is steered by Zimbabwe's first lady Grace Mugabe.

AFP reported that the world's biggest food company said that it will stop receiving milk from Gushungo as per Sunday.
The decision comes a few days after news made the headlines that the Swiss food giant is buying 1 million liters of milk from a dairy farm that was seized from its white owner in 2003, and is now owned by president Robert Mugabe and his wife.
The statement added:
In light of the recent controversy surrounding our relationship with the Gushungo Dairy Estate, we believe that this announcement reflects our long-term commitment to Zimbabwe while acknowledging the specific circumstances around these events.
The decision comes a few hours after AfriForum, a South African civil rights organization, urged consumers around the world to boycott the company for doing business with the Mugabes.
