White House posts salary list on website

Usually tightly kept secrets, the salaries of White House employees were posted Thursday on the White House website. The question is then, who takes home the biggest check?

That honor goes to David Marcozzi, the Director of Public Health Policy. Marcozzi makes $192,934 per year.
The salaries range from Marcozzi's lofty pay to nothing at all for two staffers. The lowest paid position earns $36,000 per year.
This is quite a shift from the policy of the Bush Administration, which released very little information on salaries. When President Obama was sworn in, he promised to pay his staffers the same as his predecessor.
He, for the most part, appears to have kept that promise. Twenty-one staffers make $172,000 per year, including Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.
The White House is required to submit this report to Congress, but not required to make it public.
The administration said on the White House blog that it is releasing the information publicly to remain "consistent with President Obama's commitment to transparency..."
The report, which can be viewed here, details the salaries for 487 employees at the White House, Office of Policy Development, the Domestic Policy Council and the National Economic Council.
