Op-Ed: Gov. Mark Sanford’s 'Steamy' Emails Sizzle on the Net
It didn’t take long; mere hours, if not minutes after South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford’s tearful confession of infidelity for his steamy emails to his Argentinian paramour, Maria, to explode on the Net.

Governor Sanford of South Carolina has just admitted he was gone to Argentina with a woman he has said he had an affair with. State officials and newspapers had speculated on his disappearance for four days.
The ones I read on
aol.com weren’t all that “steamy,” and were more concerned with mundane details of his daily activities.
If the ones on
aol.com aren’t enough, all one has to do is Google “sanford emails” or “sanford steamy emails” and you’ll get more than enough to keep you reading into next week.
The parts that were moderately “steamy” hardly met that description in the blaring headlines, and were more like well-written prose that can be found in any romance novel.
Okay, some of it needed a little blue penciling.
Ergo: When Sanford loses his job as governor, he can move on to the real profession he was destined for…the writer of purple prose to scintillate and titillate the readership of that kind of voyeurism.
