5,000 Motorcycle Riders Protest Against New Parking Fee Special
Around five thousand motorbike and scooter riders gathered in London’s Westminster city hall yesterday in protest to the new law charging two-wheelers a parking fee.

Motorcyclists in unity against Bike Parking Fee
The protest started at 4 pm with a ride-out around London. All the bikers converged at Trafalgar Square before gathering outside the city hall, where representatives of motorcycle groups and elected council officials meet.
The government officials will be charging motorcyclist £1.50 to park all day or even less when a longer term permit is purchased ahead of time. The council’s official website released a statement that the bike charging scheme has been designed to be revenue-neutral. All income from parking fees and charges will be reinvested in the transport infrastructure.

Motorcyclists stopping before a traffic light
The Taxpayers Alliance believe that taxing motorbikes and scooters for parking is harming the local economy. It is not supporting the intention of the Mayor of London to get more people on two wheels instead of cars in order to reduce pollution and inner city congestion.
