A popular fishing area in Lake Erie became dangerous after a huge slab of ice broke away. About 200 people are trapped and no casualties have been reported.
According to local fishermen, the ice on Lake Erie has become thicker than normal this winter and seems to have attracted more people to fish in the area.
But the thick slab of ice on which they were fishing broke away from the shore of Lake Erie.
It caused 200 people to be trapped.
So far no casualties have been reported. The Coast Guard officials in Ohio have sent boats and helicopters to rescue the individuals. They have rescued 35 so far.
