YouTube added a widescreen video option last week, but users could only see those videos on YouTube's main site and not at other sites where videos get embedded. However, YouTube is now providing this widescreen option for everyone; users can post widescreen videos on blogs and news sites anywhere on the Web. The only condition is that the uploaded video needs to be in widescreen 16:9 format. If it isn't, it will display in the widescreen format but with blank spaces around the regular 4:3 formatted videos. So how do you add widescreen videos in blogs and websites? 1.) Visit the YouTube site and find the video you want to embed in widescreen. 2.) Click the “Customize” feature shown in the circled area in the image below.

3.) Choose the option you would like to have; It has four options to choose from: 425 x 264, 480 x 295, 560 x 345, and 640 x 385. 4.) Copy the embed codes and paste it on a third-party site, and you're done. If you find regular videos that are not in widescreen, they also have customizable options with three sizes: 320×265, 425×355 and 640×505. The second feature YouTube has updated is the search button: Previously the company added the search button within videos, but it appeared after the video was over. The search feature is now at the beginning of the video and it lets you search videos on YouTube without going to the main site. TechCrunch calls this feature ugly, but I think it's about more functional use than appearance.
