He later ran and was elected mayor of that city when he was 31. He is perhaps best known nationally for taking a crack at running for president in the Democratic primaries this past year and running well.
Kucinich didn’t win a lot of votes, but he made an impression with his passion and forthrightness and, you might say, went so far as establish himself as a brand name of sorts, one that stands for the courage to speak your mind.

The Courage to Survive, that fills the rest of us in on a life story that only the people of Cleveland knew of before.
