Last week, James Kevin Pope, a 43-year-old Weatherford, Texas, man found himself "overwhelmed," according to a Fox news report. He was found guilty of sexually assaulting three girls for nearly two years.

The defense attorney in the case attempted to lessen the trauma sustained by the victims, calling their sexual assault "BS":
...Rick Alley, Pope's defense lawyer, told jurors in closing arguments that the victims were incapable of understanding what happened, the Weatherford Democrat reported in its Wednesday online edition.

"I respectfully submit to you that is BS. If it was as traumatic as they indicate, they would be able to give you (specific dates and times of the incidents). Simply because it's shocking doesn't make it true," Alley said.

A United States Secret Service Agent had uncovered over 200 images of child pornography from Popes home computer after Pope had made inappropriate comments to one of his friends, who in turn notified Child Protective Services and spearheaded the whole investigation.

Experts testified that Pope's computer activity focused on teen and pre-teen sexual activity, although the defense tried to say that anyone could have accessed the computer.

The defense attorney also asked jurors to return a "fair" verdict, claiming that there was "no serious bodily injury to the victims, no physical harm or permanent disfigurement was inflicted upon them and no death occurred".

After two hours, the jury returned with 40 life-term sentences for each count of sexual assault of a child and 20 years for each sexual performance with a child count. The grand total?

Over 4,000 years in prison. A fair verdict.

Pope will be eligible for parole in the year 3029.
