"A male individual on the public side of the international terminal of Los Angeles International Airport claimed to have explosive materials in his backpack," the U.S. Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) said in a statement.
The
man in question approached a limousine driver and told him he was carrying a bomb.
While no one has been evacuated from inside terminals roadways near Terminal Three was closed for over an hour.
The
man told police this morning that he was carrying a bomb in his backpack.
The backpack has been shot with a water cannon without exploding. A robot was used to search the backpack. That search found nothing inside.
The man's identity has not been released. He is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old.He has been taken to a police station for further questioning.
Also in the news a man tried to enter the
World Bank in Washington D.C. with what he described as a bag of explosives. The police detained the individual. The bank's employees have been asked to stay put until the incident has been resolved.
