66-year-old millionaire spent five months in 2004 in the slammer for lying about a share sale.
She was denied entry to the UK and hopes that the situation can be resolved stated her spokesman.
The BBC reports that the UK Border Agency says that they oppose the entry to the UK of anyone convicted of "serious criminal offences abroad".
Stewart was posed to speak at the Royal Academy of Arts in London and carrying out other engagements had she been allowed to cross the border.
The Academy has canceled the visit.
Her spokeswoman told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "Martha loves England and hopes this can be resolved and that she will be able to visit soon."
