As some watched in shock and horror as a man kept beating a baby boy two men tried to stop the man from beating the child. They were told by the boys father the boy was "trash" and he was beating the "demons" out of him.

The boy's mother and father were separated and in an interview Monday with detectives, Frances Liliana Casian said she didn't know why Aguilar would do such a thing.

According to SFGate Deputy Royjindar Singh said Aguilar did not have any criminal record. Singh said,

"From what we can tell, he's never been arrested."

A toxicology test for drugs and alcohol is being carried out but the results will not be known for three to four weeks.

Dan Robinson, chief of the Crows Landing volunteer fire department, was driving home Saturday night when he saw the boy being beaten.

According to Singh, Robinson was attempting to stop the man from beating the boy and trying to pull him off away from the child. Singh said,

"The suspect just pushed him away and continued doing what he was doing."

A pickup truck with three people in their 20s pulled and an unidentified young man jumped out and ran to help Robinson as another one of them called 911.

Deputy Singh who was on the scene when witnesses were being interviewed said,

"It was the shock of seeing what was going on, seeing this person with hands bloodied. At first they weren't sure how to react. You walk upon that scene and you see it and it's like, 'What are you doing?' It's like, "What the heck are you doing?' "

As the two men wrestled with Aguilar attempting to stop him and pull him away from the boy, Aguilar holding the child kept attacking him. Singh said he kept punching, slapping and shaking the boy.

Reporters were told by Robinson that,

"there was a total hollowness in his eyes," and Aguilar said he was beating "the demons" out of the boy."

A sheriff's helicopter was patrolling in the area landed in the cow pasture near the scene.
Officer Ramar jumped out of the helicopter and ran to a fence and ordered Aguilar to stop beating the boy. By this time the boys father had him on the ground and was stomping the boy.

According to Singh, Ramar called to Aguilar to put his hands up and to step away from the baby.

Instead of obeying the order Singh said that Aguilar raised his middle finger and began to kick the toddler lying on the roadway.

Ramar then aimed his gun and fired at Aguilar who died at the scene. Two deputies then ran to the boy and performed CPR, but the child never responded and was pronounced dead at the local hospital.

According to MercuryNews.com it took about six-and-a-half minutes.

Lisa Mota, 23, was driving to her parents home around 10 p.m. when she arrived upon the scene. She said,

"It seemed like forever. I need to get this out of my head and I don't think it will be for the rest of my life."

On Monday the only evidence of that six-and-a-half minutes of violence is blood seeping into the cracks of the road where the baby and his father both died.

Parents and children were leaving ceramic angels and stuffed animals along the barbed wire fence near where the violence took place. There was one white teddy bear that held a heart that said, "Besos y Abrazos." It means kisses and hugs.

Joel Arana, 36, a father of a toddler who stopped by to pay his respects said,

"The terrible man got to die in an instant, but his baby had to suffer endlessly. It's not right. But God will take care of it."
