Democrat Dennis Kucinich calls for Bush impeachment

Dennis Kucinich, a critic of the Iraq war, introduced a 35-count impeachment resolution to impeach President George W. Bush on the floor of U.S. House of Representatives. In his three-hour 20-minute speech, Kucinich, from Ohio, outlined a litany of high crimes and misdemeanors done by the President and emphasized that George W. Bush deserves to be impeached.

Bush has violated his oath of office and his Constitutional duty that the laws be "faithfully executed."

In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and to the best of his ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed the following abuses of power…”

He presented a 35-point resolution describing the abuses of power. The impeachment resolution is unlikely to get support even from the Democrats. Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the move was "off the table." Kucinich had introduced a resolution in April 2007 to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney, which was also rejected by the Congress.
