An Iowa college student was apparently unhappy with a police officer who accused his friend of being involved in a hit and run accident.

Sean McGuire reportedly threw several M & M’s at the officer as his way of “sticking up for his friend,” according to Fox News. He was charged with assaulting a police officer.

While most of the thrown candy seems to have hit the floor, at least one M&M was said to have hit the officer’s shoulder. I hope none of you were traumatized by this graphic description of the assault.

Of course, our thoughts go out to this officer as he attempts to recover from such a terrible event. Let’s hope the candy that claims it “melts in your mouth, not in your hands” lived up to it’s reputation and didn’t get chocolate on the officer’s shirt sleeve.

If found guilty, perhaps the judge will sentence McGuire to no dessert -at least not M&M’s- for a whole month.

I guess he should just be grateful that he wasn’t tazed.
