Bus accident takes life of gospel singer Dottie Rambo

Gospel music legend, Dottie Rambo, was asleep in the bus on her way to Fountain of Life Church in North Richland Hills Texas for an evening Mother's Day performance. She was to sing with Lulu Roman and Naomi Sego.

Senior pastor of Fountain of Life said that on Sunday morning a tribute concert was held for Ms. Rambo by Roman and Sego. Ms. Rambo's chair on the stage was covered with 200 roses.

Pastor Thomas said,
"Now she tells the angels how to sing those songs."

It is believed that the accident might have been weather related as severe storms and tornadoes hit the region.

The other seven in the bus were sent to hospitals in Springfield moderate to severe injuries.

Ms. Rambo was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame last year and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

She was more than 2,500 published songs some of which include "He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need" and the 1982 Gospel Music Association Song of the Year, "We Shall Behold Him."

Dolly Parton said that Rambo was a "dear friend" In a statement Parton said,

"I know Dottie is in heaven in the arms of God right now, but our earth angel will surely be missed. "Dottie was a dear friend, a fellow singer, songwriter and entertainer, and as of late my duet singing partner.

"Dottie, stand by the river and wait for me. I will always love you, Dolly
