Vodafone tried to be the exclusive partner in Great Britain but Apple sided with rival O2 as its UK distributor. Now, Vodafone has a chance to sell the iPhone in 10 countries.

Vodafone will distribute to the following countries: Australia, India, Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, South Africa, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal and Turkey.

Some of these countries are big markets and Apple can easily reach their goals to sell 10 million phones by the end of 2008.

Previously, the iPhone was available only in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Ireland and Austria.

Vodafone said in a statement they have signed a mutual agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in 10 countries in 2008. As Vodafone mentions: The phones that it sells will be intended to work on the Vodafone network."

In related news, Canadian company Rogers announced recently that they will begin to sell iPhone in Canada later this year.
