Deborah Jeane Palfrey, 52, was convicted on April 15 by a federal jury of running a prostitution service for members of Washington’s political elite such as Senator David Vitter and others. Florida police believe she may have committed suicide in Tarpon Springs.

The police told AP they found a dead body believed to be Palfrey in a shed this morning near her mother’s mobile home. She left a suicide note but the police did not reveal the contents.

When she was convicted this April, she denied the charges and said if any of the women in her escort service had engaged in sex acts for money, they did so without her knowledge.

The police will confirm details soon.
