Mt. Crawford, Virginia - This morning, the FDA released a notice of a voluntary recall initiated by WhiteWave Foods Company. The product in question is their 11-ounce single serve Silk of Soymilk in Chocolate Flavor, sold in plastic containers. The 'use by' date is May 7, 2008, and the UPC on the back of the bottle will be: 2529360028.

The problem is that the label doesn't declare the presence of milk proteins, which may cause an allergic reaction or illness in people who are sensitive to milk products. There have been reactions reported.

This affected product was distributed nationwide and reached consumers through retail and foodservice outlets. WhiteWave's sales team is working with distributors to actively recover any affected product remaining on store shelves.

The company has apologized to their customers for this inconvenience, and customers may return the product for a refund or an exchange.

Consumers are free to call 800-587-2259 with any questions or concerns.
