USDA Release - This morning the FDA posted a press release stating that Grand Carnival L.L.C., located in Fenton, Mo is recalling their product: "S'morestick Kits". The packaging does not specify that milk is in the ingredients, which could cause potentially serious or life-threatening allergic reaction to anyone with a milk allergy. So far, there has been only one report of an allergic reaction attributed to the "S'morestick Kit".

The kits were a limited distribution to
Garden Ridge retail stores located in TX, KY, MO, TN, OK, NC, FL, SC, GA, IL, OH, VA, AR, MI, and IN, and bear the "Use By" date of "2/14/09".

These kits are packaged in a clear plastic tube, which contains individual packages of marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate pieces, also wrapped in clear plastic. These particular packages will not have the words: "contains milk" on the label.

This recall was begun after it was discovered that early shipments did not declare milk on the labels, which they are in the process of correcting. Anyone with any questions or concerns may contact:

These kits pose no danger to anyone who is not allergic to milk.
