Claudette Yamin, mother of American Idol 2006 contestant Elliott Yamin,
died last night at the age of 65 at a hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Although the official cause of death has not been determined, it is suspected that she died from complications she had been having since a hip replacement surgery. She is survived by one daughter and two sons to include Elliott.
Yamin placed fifth in the 2006 American Idol competition. His solo album, titled
Movin' On, is best known for the hit single
"Wait For You".
