and parents took extra precautions to make sure their children arrived at school safely.
North Tonawanda, NY - This afternoon, outside of the North Tonawanda Middle School, many parents were waiting to pick up their children. Those children who didn't have parents waiting seemed to be walking in groups for safety.
The police and town's citizens had
hoped that by this morning, the predator would have been caught.
The lack of an arrest is keeping parents on edge.
"It's terrifying, and the fact that they haven't caught the guy is even scarier," says Krista Thompson, mother of a North Tonawanda Middle School student.
The police are still awaiting the results on the evidence collected at the crime scene. Hopes are there that the
DNA will point to a suspect.
The child that was abducted from the bus stop was a 12-year old little girl.
"The little girl that that happened to is a very brave little girl, and our hearts go out to her and her family for what she's gone through," says Kara Hartman, another mother waiting for her child at the school on Tuesday afternoon."
Even though police have bumped-up patrols in the area, they remind parents that
children should not be walking anywhere alone.
