The San Francisco Zoo welcomed a baby giraffe early Monday morning between 3 and 6 a.m. The calf is the offspring of mother Gezi and father Floyd. Floyd has sired five other calves in the zoo.

The baby giraffe weighs in at 150 pounds and stands between five and six feet tall. Although she appears to be healthy, she hasn't nursed from her mother since birth. Zookeepers anticipate having to bottle-feed her.

Nonetheless, zoo staff are proud of the birth.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have another giraffe born," Bob Jenkins, director of animal care and conservation, said in a statement. "The herd of three females and one male giraffe has made the San Francisco Zoo's new African Savanna home since 2004."
