Mel Gibson Attended Court Today So He Doesn't Have To Attend Court Again

The 52 year old actor has completed the requirements of his no-contest plea and has no need to give progress reports to the court while he finishes his probation. He had been required to pay a $1,400 fine and attend alcohol rehab along with three years probation.

"You're on your own now with the self-help groups, so this is the most difficult time for you," Mira told a subdued Gibson during a brief hearing in Los Angeles. "Good luck to you as you continue your rehabilitation."

Other than thanking Judge Mira Gibson remained silent in the courtroom.

The 2006 arrest was big news when Gibson spouted anti-Semitic remarks to the officier who arrested him.
