According to
The Huffington Post, during a speech in Des Moines, Iowa this past Sunday in front of 1,500 supporters, Barack Obama fired back at statements made by Edwards.
Edwards said that Obama is "too nice" to be an effective President. Obama replied with what seemed to be one of the hardest blows Edwards has taken since the start if his campaign.
I have to say, I've been doing this my whole life. When you talk about change, you might just want to try the guy who's actually done it before,
Obama said.
According to Obama, he was offered many lucrative positions, but turned them down for low-paid jobs to become a community organizer and as a civil rights lawyer. In direct shots at Edwards, Obama said that one of the biggest options he was given was to become a "trial lawyer." Edwards has made millions since becoming a trial lawyer and has boasted how he had used his position against corporations.
The battle that has come between Obama and Edwards recently comes right before both candidates fight for a spot to run for President with Hillary Clinton also in the front-runner spot. According to most surveys and polls conducted in Iowa, Edwards has managed to hold his number 3 spot, but has risen slightly as some support for Clinton and Obama has shifted.
