These cute little Infantino® Lion Teethers are yellow and orange and happen to have a cute little bright orange nose that has the ability to come off and possibly gag your child, which has happened in one reported case, or possibly choke them right out, which thankfully this has not been reported to have happened. Yet.
After eight reported cases of the nose coming off they are being recalled
voluntarilly by the manufacturer, Infantino® LLC, of San Diego, CA. as being a choke hazard to the young children they were aimed at.
Check on the back of the lions head for the date code that is located just above the manufacturers logo and see if yours are one of the many that have one of these date codes: 6116, 6129, 6158, 6137, 0606, 0806, 0906, and 1006 only these are part of this recall.
You can get a replacement teether or another product of equal value by contacting Infantino® toll-free at (888) 808-3111 or check out
their website here.
Also just for informational purposes i'd like to add an undated quote from their website regarding past recalls that have been based on lead.
Infantino Statement Regarding Lead
In light of recent recalls by large toy companies there has been a heightened concern about the possibility of lead-based paint in toys. We'd like to assure you that Infantino is not part of these recalls and that we've taken all the appropriate measures to ensure that our products are safe and enjoyable for babies and parents. These measures include rigorous testing by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and extensive communication with our overseas vendors to ensure the utmost in quality. Additionally Infantino has no association with any of those factories specifically noted in Mattel's current recall. If you have any other concerns you are more than welcome to contact us for further information.
Oh by the way, these were also manufactured in China and sold from June 2006 through December 2007 at around five dollars each.
