The concert is a tribute to the late famed producer Ahmet Ertegun, with proceeds going to the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, which provides scholarships in his native Turkey as well as in the United Kingdom and the United States.

The band broke up after the 1980 death of drummer John Bonham. The remaining members, Jimmy Page, 63, John Paul Jones, 61, and Robert Plant, 59, will be joined by Bonham's drummer son, Jason, 41. While fans are eager to see Led Zeppelin tour again and Page said he would like to tour, Jones remains noncommittal and, according to CTV, Plant told Rolling Stone magazine:
If people don't talk about a tour, anything is likely...The more people talk, the more pressure it puts on everybody.

The band appeared briefly, in a short set with other musicians, at their 1995 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
