Not only is Jon Stewart loved by many fans for his satirical, yet informative news coverage, but his writers must love him as well, as he is making sure that his writers, and all employees of the show are taken care of through his production company called Busboy. Not only is he securing payment for the writers for the Daily Show, but also for the Colbert Report, hosted by his close friend Stephen Colbert. Stewart wants to make sure the writers face no financial hardship and hopes the strike will conclude within two weeks, reports Conde Nast. The New York Times reports, ""There are indications that Mr. Stewart and Mr. Colbert will come back in tweaked form if the strike is a long one, leaning on interviews and other writer-free approaches to keep both programs alive in a very busy political season." Stewart is known to be a strong union supporter, with Eugene Debs and Norman Thomas as his heroes. Earlier reports said that the money was coming out of Stewart's own pocket, but a representative of his corrected that today. "He's hoping that it wraps up amicably and quickly, and over the course of that time he wants to look out for his employees," said the rep. Let's all hope the writers can arrange an amicable solution to their woes. Anything to keep from having to endure a deluge of reality television.
