Judge Thomas W. Kohl, when passing sentence, stated that in his 11 years on the bench he had never had a case where the perpetrator had set out to deliberately do harm to someone by victimizing someone else. He went on to state that Collins was not some pedophile dealing with uncontrollable urges, but a cold, calculating, evil person that destroyed not one life, but two.

Collins crime was thankfully discovered due to a letter the sodomized boy's mother received from Collins girlfriend whom he had resided with since the divorce. She wrote a letter to the ex wife indicating that he had threatened to rape her daughter, and that he had stated to her that he had done the same thing to his stepson.

The rape of the young boy began at the age of 11, and was repeated dozens of times over the next two years. The motivation? To hurt his ex wife. Collins reasoned that if he could turn the boy gay by sodomizing him, he would never marry and thus his ex would never know the joy of grandchildren.

The Oregon judge sentenced Collins to the maximum time behind bars - 25 years. He also ordered him to register as a sex offender and remain such for the rest of his life.

25 years isn't long enough in my book. This is one sick and twisted individual. How he could take an innocent 11 year old boy and rape him for two years merely for the sake of revenge against the boys mother for divorcing him.............prison is too good for this jerk. Makes me sick just thinking about it.
