Judge Maxine Chesney has also put the brakes on the Social Security administration's intentions to mail out 140,000 letters advising them that the social security numbers of some employees did not match those of public records.


The mailings, known as 'no-match letters', were going to be accompanied by a two-page notice from the Homeland Security Department advising employers of the new rules, which give them 90 days to fire any employee who cannot show valid Social Security identification, or risk civil and even criminal charges for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants.

The new rules by President Bush were suppose to take effect on September 10 but Maxine in all of her wisdom has set a hearing date for October.

Of course this ruling was the result of a lawsuit filed by the AFL-CIO and ACLU.

Maybe the Capital should be moved to San Francisco since they seem to block ever law in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals that does not match their liberal agenda.
