Microsoft says Your Password Must Be at Least 18,770 Characters

Microsoft gives a solution for one of the common error message encountered in Windows 2000 operating system. Many users encounter the following error Message:

Your Password Must Be at Least 18770 Characters and Cannot Repeat Any of Your Previous 30689 Passwords

First of all to set a password with a length of 17,145 characters is ridiculous and then Microsoft suggests that is not enough, it needs a larger password with 18,770 characters. So, everyone has to reset the password and make sure they enter the correct password in both the boxes, the second box for verification purpose. This new change has been introduced in the Microsoft's new patch SP1.

To resolve the above error the user must update to the latest windows patch available at Microsoft. Assuming there are 3,958 characters in a page, it requires only 4.5 pages to have this new password. Thank God the banks don't demand this requirement, by the time we enter the password it will time us out of its site.

This page has been there since January of this year and Microsoft has yet to update it.
