Farfur was going too far...

The character was killed off in true political style on a children's TV show after there were deep concerns that the friendly mouse was giving Palestinian children the wrong messages about America and Israel.

The Hamas-affiliated al-Aqsa channel showed the very last episode yesterday featuring the mouse coming to a rather brutal end by being beaten to death by an Israeli agent.

Poor little Farfur met his match and simply did not wear the right ears to stay in the business so he had to go.

A tad harsh for the little viewers I hear you say and I am inclined to agree. Bad character or not. What sort of messages is this sending out instead? Yet Farfur was not going to get away with his tail. He was sending out the wrong impressions about western life so he was given the chop, or should I say, the trap?

The presenter of the show for tots, Saraa, said of the rodent's axing,

"Farfur was martyred defending his land.."

Yet the Israeli officials said that the show was a disgrace and that it had to be taken off the air. Palestinian members of their government said the same and had been campaigning to ditch the dormouse and scrap the show.

The end of the tale of the cute mouse came when the agent tried to buy the land from the rodent. The animal stands up to the Israeli and calls him a terrorist. For that, the mouse get to meet his maker.

Sarrr insists that the agent was
"the killers of children."

Yet Al-Aqsa television had confirmed with the news agent, Associated Press that the channel was only scrapping the show to make way for better programmes for children.

Yet some say through the media that the channel had long ignored orders from the information Minister, Mustafa Barghouti to cut the programme quickly.

The minister said,

"...was wrong to use a programme directed at children to convey political messages".

These messages had been, in a previous show, when Farfur had said,

"You and I are laying the foundation for a world led by Islamists. We will return the Islamic community to its former greatness, and liberate Jerusalem, God willing, liberate Iraq, God willing, and liberate all the countries of the Muslims invaded by the murderers."

The Palestinian Media Watch organisation had been keeping a close eye on the show saying that the mouse's attitude was giving children all the wrong ideas about Israeli people. They said,

"...Farfur took every opportunity to indoctrinate young viewers with teachings of Islamic supremacy".

What ever happened to Pixie and Dixie...?
