Global Warming: Discussing Scientific Theory
There is a liberal station they show in lot of the schools now a days called "Channel One." It's supposed to allow youths to have a voice and give us insight into what's happening in the world. They like to let naive and idealistic teenagers share their views and give us an idea what they wish life would be like. Sounds great, but we all know life is not all butterflies and water powered cars. The reason I mention this is because they were discussing this particular subject at one point and allowing students to support them with their views. They were spouting off this stuff like it was an actual fact and acting like we should be scared. Sorry, but until proven, I don’t see why I can’t live a normal life just the way we have been so many years before this theory was taken to the extreme.
Remember in your science class when you read about theories? Let's define theory first, a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena.
Al Gore ran into a scientist who claimed that certain chemicals in products we use are destroying the o zone layer around the earth. He proposed that in a few years if we kept up the way we were, all the ice would melt and the earth would be in a lot of trouble, and we would all be over heated. Al Gore had a thought and ran with it. Not only did he make this theory famous, but he goes around spreading it like it was actual fact. He has people worrying about it like it was dooms day.
Yet here is Al Gore, flying around one of his many jets then returning to one of his numerous of mansions that uses up 100x more energy than 20 of our homes. It's propaganda, and he's taking advantage of this fear people hold. Global warming is a theory, and if you haven't noticed, the weather is still as unpredictable as it was years ago. Do not mistake this opinion of global warming as an actual fact, or you will forever be ignorant in the world of science.
I am merely trying to open your eyes and let you see both sides of the story. If you honestly believe that global warming is real and effecting our lives, then that's your opinion. Maybe one day in the distant future when the earth is still above water, you'll think differently.
Dictionary.com added this to their definition of Global Warming: Note: Whether global warming is actually happening is a subject of scientific debate.
