Ethnic hate crimes were the result in 5 young teens being sentenced to prison.
The 5 teens between ages of 12 and 17 were convicted of murder motivated by ethnic hatred.
One received a sentence of 10 years and the other 4 received sentences 5 to 7 years in a prison in Russia.
The 5 teens attacked a 21 year old Jewish man, beat him and dragged him to a cementary and stabbed him with a metal cross they took from a gravestone, killing him.
Over the last few years, Russia's hate crimes have been on the rise. Xenophobia and racism are seen to be rising. Last year, 53 people were killed and another 460 injured in apparent hate crimes.
Authorities are doing very little to stop the crimes against dark-skinned residents, foreigners and Jews according to Right groups.
Maybe sending those that commit those crimes to prison like they did, no matter the age might send a message to others.
