Jessica Simpson: 'Notebook' Spurred Divorce

Jessica Simpson stated that she was hurt when she saw that her ex, Nich Lachey, jumped into dating after their high-profile breakup.
And finally she talks.
"Oh, it hurt me," the 26-year-old singer-actress says in an interview in the March issue of Elle magazine, on newsstands February 13. "Two or three weeks later? Yeah, I'd say it kind of hurt me."
She made the decision to divorce Lachey after she watched 'The Notebook' on a plane ride from Texas.
"I just figured out the statement," she says of the movie, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as star-crossed lovers. "It was about that moment of desperation. I needed to breathe."
If you're wondering if she still keeps in touch with Nick, here's the answer: "Mm-hmmm," she tells the magazine. "He's so much a part of my life, how could I not be? Any guy that's going to be with me from this day forward has to understand that. You want to help me find a guy?"
Simpson has been photographed recently with John Mayer.
She also said that she is really happy right now but she declined to discuss her love life. We all know what happened last time she discussed it.
Asked whether she's in love, a grinning Simpson plays coy: "I didn't say yes."
Now, I know it is Jessica Simpson and that my conclusion statement should be something about her. But I want to go back to 'The Notebook' part. I thought that 'The Notebook' is supposed to bring two people together. I mean, Allie and Noah (or Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling) fight for one another throughout the whole movie. And really: Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling (or Noah and Allie) have something Nick Lackey and her never had (sorry if I offended their fans, did not mean to; just my opinion). I think if Nick and Jessica kept their relationship low key as much as Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams keep it, they would still be together.
