High-ranking North Korean officials recently told two U.S. experts on nuclear issues that Pyongyang would suspend its nuclear reactor if it gets more than 500,000 tons of fuel oil a year, just one of the their demands.

According to the report, the North Koreans said the country would halt the operation of the reactor in Yongbyon if it gets the supply of fuel oil in volumes exceeding 500,000 tons a year -- the amount specified in the 1994 U.S.-North Korean framework accord.
They also demanded that the United States lift its financial sanctions against North Korea as well as begin a process toward removing its designation of North Korea as a terrorism-sponsoring country.
I can see this angering hard-liners in Japan and the United States.
