PR Newswire

MEXICO D.F., Mexico, Aug. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The United Mexican States ("Mexico") announced today the UST Benchmark Rate, the Old Bond Exchange Value, the Exchange Ratio and the Reopened Note Exchange Value for each exchange combination relating to its previously announced invitation (the "Invitation") to holders of certain series of its outstanding bonds (the "Old Bonds") to submit offers to exchange Old Bonds for new notes with a longer maturity and, in each case, if Mexico determines to pay an additional amount of cash, a U.S. dollar amount of cash as so determined.  The Benchmark Spreads for each exchange combination were determined earlier today and announced by Mexico in a previous release, but are also reprinted below.  Capitalized terms used but not defined in this press release are defined in the invitation supplement dated August 3, 2012, the prospectus supplement dated February 2, 2012 and the prospectus dated February 2, 2012, all relating to the Invitation.

As previously announced, the Invitation is being conducted as a modified Dutch auction.  Mexico has invited (i) holders of certain series of its outstanding bonds (the "Group A Bonds") to submit offers to exchange Group A Bonds of each series for reopened 3.625% Global Notes due 2022 (the "Reopened 2022 Notes"), reopened 4.750% Global Notes due 2044 (the "Reopened 2044 Notes") or reopened 5.750% Global Notes due 2110 (the "Reopened 2110 Notes") and, in each case, if Mexico determines to pay an additional amount of cash, a U.S. dollar amount of cash as so determined, and (ii) holders of certain other series of its outstanding bonds (the "Group B Bonds") to submit offers to exchange Group B Bonds of each series for Reopened 2044 Notes or Reopened 2110 Notes and, in each case, if Mexico determines to pay an additional amount of cash, a U.S. dollar amount of cash as so determined.  The 36 resulting possible exchange combinations are referred to as the "Combinations."

The Invitation commenced on Friday, August 3, 2012 and is currently scheduled to expire tomorrow, August 9, 2012 at 5:00 P.M., New York City time.  Mexico plans to announce the results of the Invitation on Friday, August 10, 2012 at or around 9:00 A.M., New York City time, or as soon as possible thereafter.  Settlement of the Invitation is expected to be Monday, August 20, 2012.
