“The Legends of South Haven Spirit Unbroken” (published by AuthorHouse) by author Helena Sustaita takes place in the early 1500s in the fictional province of Dunlap. In this exciting tale of adventure, lies and betrayal, the book’s protagonist, Raven, must choose between love and destiny. But there is a price for each decision.
Throughout her youth, Raven learned the fundamentals and brutality of combat, forcing her body to wield the most savage of weapons. Ahead of her lies her true destiny, to fight against the Warriors of the Quest – a fate which she cannot escape.
“We are human beings capable of every emotion and pain,” explains Sustaita. “Abuse is a topic that most prefer to avoid. Women and children had to endure the hardships of untold stories in that era. Well, that is still happening today, no doubt, and it’s almost just as taboo to talk about today as it was back then. The issues in my book are still relevant today.”
An excerpt from “The Legends of South Haven Spirit Unbroken”:
“A wise man once told me: Life is how you make it to be. You can lead a miserable life or you can lead a happy one. It is up to each of us on what we choose. With my life, I chose to help others who can’t defend themselves….”
“My book is about three things: hope, courage, and perseverance. Hope to get you through your tribulations. Courage to continue living in spite of whatever personal trials you may have to endure. And perseverance to get what you want out of your life and strive to get it.”
