Punch Buggy Digital Agency Releases Infographic to Showcase Benefits of Modern Ecommerce Website Design

>PRWEB.COM Newswire

(PRWEB) June 19, 2012

Traditional offline businesses have been slow to realise the benefits of having an online presence, but that, according to Ryan Fitton from Punch Buggy Digital Agency, is beginning to change. By creating an infographic that leads viewers through those benefits, he has found an ideal way to demonstrate the power of being online.

“Offline, or ‘bricks and mortar’ businesses operate under the constraints of opening hours, staff numbers and physical location,” explained Mr Fitton. “Having a well constructed ecommerce website, however, removes those constraints.”

“Our offline clients continue to be amazed at the difference that having a website has made to their businesses. Where relevant, they have included online reservation systems, shopping carts, and downloadable information sheets,” he said. “This type of capability allows their websites to be virtual shopfronts that are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.”

He continued, “Here is an example. In the evening, when a couple are deciding where to have brunch tomorrow, it is likely to be outside of a cafe’s opening hours. The cafe with a menu posted online and a reservation system built into their website is much more likely to get their business.”

If a reservation system does not work for the business, an email requesting a call back is a convenient option for both the client and business owner. Although, says Mr Fitton, business owners must be committed to a timely call back.

Competing with Giants

Many of Australia’s major retailers have ecommerce websites, including Harvey Norman, Dick Smith and Peters of Kensington along with the major supermarkets. However, the internet, Mr Fitton says, has made it possible, and easier, for smaller retailers to compete.

“In the online world, everyone is equal. By building smart and streamlined ecommerce websites, and having the flexibility to adapt to changing trends, smaller retailers can often dominate targeted niches,” he explained. “Online shoppers are often looking for a specific product or service - they don’t want to plough through a massive website to find it. They are used to specialist niche shopping, and will support a site that delivers expertise.”
