New York Civil Rights Violation Lawyer from The Perecman Firm Welcomes New Stop-And-Frisk Reporting App

New York civil rights violation lawyer David Perecman welcomes the new Stop and Frisk Watch app from the New York Civil Liberties Union. The app allows witnesses of police stops to record the incidents and send them directly to the NYCLU.
NEW YORK, NY, June 16, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- New York civil rights violation lawyers at The Perecman Firm welcome a new smart phone application called The Stop and Frisk Watch.
This new app from the New York Civil Liberties Union allows people to report violations of the New York Police Department's controversial stop-and-frisk policy, according to The New York Times (6/10/2012).

"This new app will make it easier for the NYCLU and civil rights violation lawyers to investigate NYPD stop-and-frisks and determine if and when minorities are being targeted, or if other civil rights are being violated," said David Perecman, founder of The Perecman Firm, one of New York's civil rights violation law firms.
Individuals who download the "Stop and Frisk Watch" app, can record questionable incidents of police stopping and questioning people with the press of a button, said the The New York Times. Filming is stopped with a shake of the phone and a setting will lock the phone once the video is stopped. Users can then send the video directly to the NYCLU.
NYPD stop and frisks have been widely denounced by civil rights groups and lawyers at The Perecman Firm as unjustified stops that mostly target minorities.
According to the NYCLU, of the 685,000 people stopped in 2011, 87 percent were black or Latino. Of the young black and Latino men stopped by police, 90 percent were innocent, meaning they were neither arrested nor ticketed.
Discrimination, racial profiling and bias-motivated harassment are examples of civil rights violations important to the NYCLU and civil rights violation lawyers at The Perecman Firm.
Users of the app, which is available in Spanish and English, also receive an alert when someone nearby is using it to report a police stop.
Individuals who believe they have been victims of a New York civil rights violation including discrimination or racial profiling can contact New York civil rights violation lawyers at The Perecman Firm at http://www.perecman.com.
