Syrian Expatriates Organization (SEO) Calls for Urgent Intervention to Stop Ongoing Massacres in Syria

>PRWEB.COM Newswire

Al-Houla, Syria (PRWEB) May 26, 2012

The Syrian Expatriates Organization (SEO) calls upon the United Nations to intervene immediately to stop ongoing Assad regime atrocities against the people of Syria, and demands an independent investigation lead by UN on a massacre in Al-Houla city that has left 90 people dead, including 25 children, according to the AFP.

Dr Iyad Azrak, SEO chairman said,"The hideous massacre in Al-Houla today, with the circulating gory images and the extremely graphic videos has left us speechless. Our people were ruthlessly slaughtered, including innocent children. We demand urgent intervention by the UN to stop these ongoing atrocities by Assad regime. We think the statement by UN Secretary Genernal Ban Ki-Moon that there is no 'plan B' for the Annan initiative is unacceptable and frustrating. Our people in Syria are under extreme brutal attacks, and they are striving just to survive the killing. We call upon the international community to hold their responsibility and adopt a resolution to protect civilians in Syria.”
