Nashville to Host a Small Intimate Elvis Tribute Artist Festival to Precede Elvis Week in Memphis from Nashville to Memphis Festival - August 7-10, 2012

>PRWEB.COM Newswire

Nashville TN (PRWEB) May 22, 2012

The 35th Anniversary of Elvis’ Presley’s death is August 16 of this year. A solemn remembrance and a genuine celebration of his life will be celebrated by fans throughout the world as they travel to Memphis to pay their respects during the annual Elvis week – August 10-17, 2012. But another Tennessee city, namely Nashville, is also home to a large amount of Elvis history and passion. New in 2012, a small and intimate festival, From Nashville to Memphis, will welcome fans and Elvis Tribute Artists on their way to Memphis, from August 7-10, 2012.

Presley made what would be his only appearance on Nashville's Grand Ole Opry on October 2, 1954. After a polite audience response, Opry manager Jim Denny told Sam Phillips that his singer was "not bad" but did not suit the program. He went on to record over 200 songs in Studio B from 1960-1969- some which included: Suspicious Minds, Don't Cry Daddy, Kentucky Rain.

To honor those and other Elvis memories, over 25 ETA’s (Elvis Tribute Artists) from all over the world will gather in Music City USA for three days of comradery, celebration and music. They will perform on legendary stages ranging from the downtown Nashville Honky Tonk scene to the historic Ryman Auditorium. Sharing Elvis music and history with fans and keeping Elvis’ memory alive is the goal of each Tribute Artists as they perform a wide variety of Elvis music from the 50’s through the 70’s. A headline show features fan favorites Travis Allen from Las Vegas, Mark Anthony from Australia, and Robert Washington from Maine.

The festival is small and intimate. Each guest will receive an up-close-and-personal experience. Attendance will be capped at 600, compared to hundreds of thousands which is sometimes the case at Elvis festivals.”
