Scott Tucker & Level 5 Motorsports Gearing Up For Le Mans 24 Hour Race
Madison, WI (PRWEB) May 18, 2012
Level 5 Motorsports and Scott Tucker have declared their focus on the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Next month Level 5 drivers Scott Tucker and Christophe Bouchut will be lining up on the grid for the 80th staging on the legendary endurance race. Level 5 Motorsports earned an automatic invitation into the race by securing the P2 class victory in last season's Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.
Scott Tucker, Christophe Bouchut and Joao Barbosa drove to an impressive 6th place overall finish in the season closing Road Atlanta race. It was good enough to secure victory in P2 class. Scott Tucker made his Le Mans debut in 2010 where he joined Bouchut in the driving line up for Kolles Racing. Tucker was the first American to drive the diesel powered Audi R10 TDI. Unfortunately the Audi did not finish the race.
Tucker returned to Le Mans in 2011 when Level 5 Motorsports made their debut at the classic endurance race. It was a happy return for Tucker, who alongside Bouchut and Joao Barbosa steered their Lola B11/80 Honda Coupe to third place in the LMP2 class earning a podium finish. The podium finish was all the more remarkable considering it was the team's debut in the race.
Christophe Bouchut is no stranger to Le Mans, and achieved the ultimate success securing the overall victory back in 1993. Alongside fellow Frenchman Eric Hélary and Australian Geoff Brabham the Peugeot Talbot Sports team drove their C1 class #3 Peugeot 905 to victory covering 375 laps. The experienced Frenchman is now competing in his 31st year of racing and his vast knowledge of the Le Mans track will be invaluable to the Level 5 team next month.
