New York Civil Rights Violation Lawyer From The Perecman Firm Comments on Sexual Orientation and Gender Discrimination Lawsuit Against NYPD

New York civil rights violation lawyer David Perecman comments on an openly gay New York police sergeant's sexual orientation and gender discrimination lawsuit against the NYPD.
NEW YORK, NY, May 06, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- New York police sergeant Michael Fox filed a sexual orientation and gender discrimination lawsuit (Index No. 152067/2012) in Manhattan Supreme Court against the New York Police Department. Fox claims a superior officer gave him a negative review because of his sexual orientation.

According to the employment discrimination lawsuit, the bias cost Fox a Hunter College scholarship, extended his probationary period as a sergeant, and stripped him of his authority.
Fox had received exceptional reviews for over 13 years before transferring to the 24th precinct house, claimed the workplace discrimination lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, Commander Lieutenant Roger Lurch, viewed Fox as having "stereotypical weakness as an openly gay man" and treated him with hostility and scorn.
"Gender stereotyping often leads to workplace discrimination that is illegal under the law," said New York civil rights violation lawyer Perecman, founder of The Perecman Firm, and a civil rights violation lawyer in New York for over 30 years.
Allegedly, Lurch routinely attacked Fox and made comments like, "You're not a real cop," "You belong at a desk," and "if you don't have a CCRB, IAB log, EEO log or lawsuit, you're not doing your job," said the employment discrimination lawsuit.

"The latter comment is particularly disturbing. It sounds as if the Commander Lieutenant is condoning police misconduct in New York," [ulr=http://www.perecman.com/Attorneys-Staff/David-H-Perecman.shtml]civil rights violation lawyer[/url] Perecman said.
