Hawaii Law Office of Mei Nakamoto Proudly Welcomes Erin M. Kobayashi

The Law Office of Mei Nakamoto is proud to announce a new addition to its Honolulu office. Erin M. Kobayashi joined the firm as an associate attorney, with a solid knowledge base and experience that will add value to the Honolulu divorce firm devoted to family law.

A graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing/Management, Erin Kobayashi is a 2011 graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law. She volunteered for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel reviewing complaints, researching allegations, drafting petitions and evaluating pending files. She is a recipient of the James Hoenig Scholarship, which is awarded to the law student who demonstrates academic achievement and a dedicated interest in the area of family law with an emphasis in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Kobayashi worked as an extern at the Family Court of the First Circuit for the Honorable Sabrina S. McKenna before Judge McKenna was elevated to the Hawaii Supreme Court. She also worked for the Honorable R. Mark Browning (Senior Judge of the First Circuit’s Family Court), and for the Honorable Christine E. Kuriyama (then Lead Judge of the Juvenile Division of the First Circuit’s Family Court). She also worked as a law clerk with trust and probate administration and litigation attorney Jared N. Kawashima. Earlier on in her career, she worked as a paralegal/legal secretary with the business litigation law firm of Ning Lilly & Jones, AAL, ALC.

Ms. Kobayashi is a member of the Hawaii Bar State Association. She also is a member of the Family Law Section of the Hawaii Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association and Hawaii Women Lawyers. Ms. Kobayashi also serves as a volunteer for Kids First, a Family Court program for parents and their children who are going through a divorce or paternity action.
