The Assistance Fund Opens New Program For Acromegaly

Copay Assistance From the Assistance Fund Now Available for Eligible People Living With Acromegaly

ORLANDO, Fla. – November 12, 2020 – (Newswire.com)

The Assistance Fund (TAF), an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new copay assistance program for people living with acromegaly. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical expenses related to the acromegaly, such as copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.

Acromegaly is a disorder that occurs when the pituitary gland produces excess growth hormone, leading to an increase in bone size in the hands, feet, and face. Acromegaly is uncommon and physical changes occur gradually, which makes the disorder difficult to diagnose. People living with acromegaly may experience other serious health complications like hypertension, cardiovascular disease, vision loss, and diabetes.[1]

“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, TAF is pleased to announce the launch of our new Acromegaly Copay Assistance Program, which will alleviate financial stress for thousands of people living with this disorder,” said Mark P. McGreevy, President and CEO of The Assistance Fund. “When acromegaly is not treated promptly, it can quickly become life-threatening. We are thrilled to help expedite access to critical treatment for patients and families facing an acromegaly diagnosis.”
