Calpont Signs Distribution Agreement With K.K. Ashisuto to Meet Big Data Demands in Japan
Frisco, TX and Tokyo, Japan (PRWEB) November 09, 2011
Calpont Corporation, a leading provider of high-performance analytic databases, announced today that it has signed a master distribution agreement with K.K. Ashisuto of Japan. The agreement includes that Ashisuto will start to distribute and support a Japanese version of Calpont InfiniDB in January 2012. Additionally, Ashisuto is launching Ashisuto Enterprise BI Suite where Calpont InfiniDB will be positioned as the core engine of the platform for rapid access to large amounts when timeliness is paramount.
“Ashisuto has been greatly impressed by the approach Calpont employs for on-demand analytics using columnar-oriented databases to help enterprises leverage their existing infrastructures while obtaining dramatically improved response times for data queries. Moreover, Calpont's approach allows both vertical and horizontal scalability that will help enterprises improve their economies-of-scale,” commented Bill Totten, founder and president of K.K. Ashisuto. “We appreciate the enthusiasm Calpont has shown assisting our team as we prepare for the role as master distributor and primary support provider in Japan for InfiniDB. We are confident that the addition of InfiniDB to our database product line will satisfy our Japanese customers' growing needs for Big Data analytics at the most cost-effective prices possible.”
Calpont InfiniDB is a high performance, scalable database designed from the inception for analytics, BI, data warehousing and read intensive applications. The product has quickly established itself as a powerful platform choice for data professionals who need to augment or replace their traditional RDBMS technologies for big data. The all software solution stores data in columns rather than rows. When companies query billions of data points, InfiniDB’s unique two-tier distributed architecture optimizes the I/O retrieval of row data based on a column view approach, accessing only the row data required for analysis. The benefit is optimal query distribution across all available hardware CPUs, dramatically reducing response times.
“Calpont is excited to expand the footprint of InfiniDB in Japan with the guidance and support of Ashisuto. Columnar database technology provides new ways for companies to gain efficiencies, performance and scale for more refined big data analysis and reporting,” said Nick Ochoa, vice president of marketing at Calpont. “Ashisuto is the premier partner in the region and we look forward to working together to help companies achieve greater business value from their data assets and grow new customer relationships.”
