Okatie-based Nonna Rosa, Awarded Best Italian Restaurant and Best Chef, is reopening its doors to its clientele.
The Authentic Italian restaurant located in the Foodlion shopping center on Okatie Village drive by Sun City is open on a limited time from 4 PM to 10 PM daily due to restrictions in line with the coronavirus pandemic. Though on limited operating hours, the restaurant gives its full effort to provide the authentic Italian experience in South Carolina.
The five-star Italian restaurant accepts reservations for dine-in and outside dining. Clients just have to call 843 707-1750 to get a slot. They also offer to take away. To cater to those who could not leave their houses or offices, Nonna Rosa also provides delivery services.
One of its owners had served as an Infection Control Officer for Emergency Medical Services, and with over 30 years of medical experience. With that, the restaurant management assures to keep its customers and even employees safe. All their tables are socially distanced, while necessary precautions are also implemented.
“We are cleaning and disinfecting surfaces in our restaurant more often than guideline requirements. We are monitoring employees closely and will not allow a sick employee or employees with members of their household that are sick to come to work,” says the famous Italian restaurant.
Meanwhile, in this challenging time, Nonna Rosa aims to provide comfort with excellent Italian cuisine. With Peppe Gialone’s recipe, the Italian chef and co-owner of the place, Nonna Rosa serving the Best traditional Italian dishes in Okatie SC has been serving good food to Okatie and other SC residents.
Among the popular food on their dinner menu is their Calamari Nonna Rosa. It’s calamari sautéed with capers, garlic, and Kalamata olives in a spicy red sauce. They also serve fresh prosciutto and mozzarella over a mixed green salad with their chef’s white balsamic dressing.
The main menu has pollo parmigiana, a lightly breaded chicken topped with Pomodoro sauce and mozzarella. Vegetarians can meanwhile try their Melanzane parmigiana; eggplant lightly fried topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella. They also have a classic homemade tiramisu made with Italian mascarpone cheese, imported ladyfingers, and espresso for dessert.
Their dinner menu is meanwhile best paired with an excellent Italian wine from Peppe’s special collection. They also have bianco, reds, bubbles, and rose wines on their list.
