High school student athletes are always looking for ways to get noticed. Real Deal Recruits is a new web site designed to fill that need, providing athletes, coaches, and recruiters an open, Internet-based tool for maximum exposure.

It's common knowledge that star athletes at large, metro area high schools will have little trouble being recruited by the college of their choice, and especially if they play football, but what about the other talented student athletes?

Getting noticed becomes more difficult when you play sports at a private school, live in a smaller town, or participate in non-revenue sports. Where can these student athletes turn to get noticed?

Real Deal Recruits is a web site designed to answer that question by creating maximum exposure for high school student athletes using current Internet trends and social media in an expected, open source environment.

"As parents of student athletes ourselves, and in an age of social media, Facebook and a wide open Internet, we couldn't understand why it made sense to pay for a membership to help our kids get noticed by colleges and recruiters," said Christian Griffith, CTO at Real Deal Recruits, adding that pay-for-inclusion recruitment sites "seemed to actually prohibit maximum exposure."

Real Deal Recruits offers student athletes the ability to create a profile showcasing their current athletics, academics, photos, and videos. Athletes can access and create profiles using their current Facebook account, and after profile completion, each athlete receives a short, unique web address designed specifically for them.

Although access to student profiles is open, no personal address, phone or email information is available to the public. Like other popular social networking sites, visitors can only communicate with athletes through a one-way messaging system and the recipient has the choice whether or not they would like to respond.

"We believe that student athletes, and their parents, should tackle every avenue they can when trying to secure athletic scholarship opportunities, " said Christian, "and we believe maximum exposure is a great place to start."
