Live Webinar: How COVID19 drove a Chinese music festival online

China’s leading festival organizer created a “I’m at home too” music festival attracting 15 million festival goers.

As the COVID 19 pandemic takes hold in much of the world, society is seeing a massive impact on daily routines and habits. These developments are taking a heavy toll especially on live entertainment.

“The entertainment industry needs evolve quicker than ever before in order to survive. “I’m at home too” – festival is one case where knowledge was cumulated and is now shared. We are bringing series of webinars from industry leaders to ease the innovation and transition within entertainment business. The speaker on Monday will be one of China’s best-known entertainment industry organizers: Shen Yue, partner and VP of the Modern Sky Entertainment, the organizer of China’s largest music festivals.

Along with the support of entertainers, fans and Bilibili – China’s leading internet platform among generation Z, his team created online festival Strawberry Z with the slogan “I’m at home too”. The festival, which garnered an audience of more than 15 million, was a way to support artists during the lockdown while bringing people together online and breaking the boredom of being stuck at home. Shen Yue will share the experience of the production, followed by Q&A and open discussion.

The Format+ed live webinar will go into details about how the Strawberry Z festival was implemented, the details of how to draw in millions of viewers using cutting edge content and of critical importance to the industry during this financially trying time, how to monetize online entertainment. And offers also an opportunity for industry professional to discuss and compare different approaches to this new situation.
