Bestselling author Max Lucado and leading Christian publisher, Zondervan, are offering Lucado’s latest book project, God’s Story, Your Story, as a free ebook download from now through October 9, 2011, in conjunction with the Catalyst leadership conference this week in Atlanta, GA.

Catalyst is an annual conference noted for its appeal to next-generation Christian leaders. This week, over 13,000 attendees are expected to attend and engage with this year’s theme: “Be Present.”

“We were discussing the ’Be Present’ theme for Catalyst this year, and Max Lucado and his team immediately launched a plan to make the ebook download of God’s Story, Your Story available for free during the conference and until Sunday, October 9th,” said Steve Sammons, executive vice president at Zondervan. “Max’s book is a great resource for leaders as well as for the people they serve.”

“This free download is available to everyone,” continued Sammons. “Whether you’re attending the Catalyst conference or not, whether you’re a leader or not. If you want to learn how to ‘be present,’ how to show up and be in the moment, this book will help.”

Released in September, God’s Story, Your Story was inspired by a biblical literacy movement that started with the 2005 publication of The Story (TheStory.com), a chronological retelling of the Bible. Hundreds of churches across the nation are now using The Story and related books, generating a renewed passion for God’s saga recorded in the Bible. God’s Story, Your Story takes readers on an intimate and engaging journey through the New Testament, exploring God’s quest to save his people, interweaving New Testament scenes and contemporary examples of God’s masterful story-making skills.

Lucado’s book stresses that we need to know our story line in order to be present, relevant, and clear about the drama God is directing. Without a script in hand, the story of your life can be chaos and confusion. Lucado offers, “when you enter the stage equipped with a script everything changes.” If you know the final act, when you know the rest of your story, you can show up in every scene with real presence. Only when you know your story can you truly be present in it, and your story indwells God’s.

Max Lucado serves as Minister of Preaching at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, and is the bestselling author of Outlive Your Life, Fearless, 3:16, and numerous other titles. He and his wife, Denalyn, have three grown daughters.
