Book offers 'Effing Simple' advice for network marketers and non-sellers alike

Sep. 22, 2019 / PRZen / CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Anyone in sales will find helpful tips for building business in Toni Vanschoyck's book "Effing Simple: Your Guide to Growing Your Network Marketing Business and Changing Your Life." But the advice offered in the book — and a new line of merchandise — can be used by just about anyone in their daily lives.

The book was released in March and was named one of the best books offering tips to small-business owners by Boove, a United Kingdom website dedicated to spreading a love for reading. It also was among the "Best Books If You're Looking For A Stress-Free Life As A Woman" by the Improve Her Health blog.

In the book, the motivational speaker and senior executive director for hair care and anti-aging products company Monat outlines her career background, from working as a waitress all the way to joining the $5 million club with Monat. She shares her struggles in business, relationships and within herself. She also offers tips for vetting network marketing companies, successful recruiting, presenting yourself and your business, and using social media in business.

The biggest takeaway — the one that so many things in the book come back to — is to make sure to define you "why," or the motive behind your actions. Doing so helps you create and find yourself and stay committed to your dream. It's something that is likely to change over time, but it's vital to being successful in business.

But there are admonitions throughout the book that can apply to those in retail, an owner of any size business, a parent and anyone in the workforce — corporate or not. Helpful hints for anyone in their everyday life found in the book include:

• Dream big. Have what Vanschoyck calls BHAGs, or Big Hairy Audacious (or Ass) Goals.
• Start every day with positive energy, focus on positive intention and create a daily routine that shifts your perspective to the positive no matter what is going on in life. Kick negativity in the butt. If you think negative and hurtful thoughts, that's what will appear in your life.
• Don't be afraid to be successful and don't feel bad about rewarding yourself for achieving goals.
• Believe in yourself and don't let that belief waiver.
• Ditch/avoid the drama. It drains energy, and energy is money. Complaining takes power away from you, and you don't want to give energy and power away in ways that don't further your goals.
• Be coachable. It sets you up for success and will take you further than just about anything else.
• Be a servant leader. Helping others achieve success brings you joy, creates good karma and can serve you in your own career. Time and love are the most significant gifts you can give, Vanschoyck writes, and success, wealth and blessings are meant to be shared.
• Go full force. "It's so easy to half-ass life. Make it full-assed. Get a J Lo booty when it comes to facing your fears! Go out and seize the world," Vanschoyck says in the book.
• Keep everything simple. Effing simple.

At the end of each chapter, Vanschoyck includes questions to help readers start to make a change in their life. And at the end of August, she released a Change Journal to keep the momentum going. The journal aims to "guide you through decisions to change your life and build your business."

And those looking to make change a constant in their life also will find T-shirts, a coffee mug and tote bags emblazoned with the word "change" on https://effingsimple.com.
